Mother-Daughter "Bond"-ing

Abs behaviour over the course of last weekend was pretty dismal. She seemed irritable, tired, moody and argumentative (and they say she doesn't take after me!?!) She picked on the twins relentlessly and eventually got into a whole pile of trouble.
Monday night I was due to go out for my Girls Night Out dinner so I decided as she had a pupil free day the following day that I would take her out to dinner with me and see if a little one on one time would help the situation. She had a lovely time but I could tell she was a bit bored sitting around with so many older people.
On Tuesday I had booked her and I in for a dental checkup which she was pretty nervous about. My Mum came and watched the twins so it was just her and I, dentist appt went great and we decided to do a little shopping in Kmart afterwards.
We picked out some bits for the twins (scissors, glue and scrapbooks) and I let Abs pick out a new book too and then we headed to the mens underwear section to get G some underwear/sleepwear as it was on special. Abs seemed quite amused in the mens underwear section looking at the different styles available, she was a bit embarassed about the "rude pictures" on the different packets but she really cracked me up when she looked at the Bonds Guy Front undies I was getting for G and said "oh and these have pockets on them too" PMSL

Hmmm G is that a pistol in your pocket?

Something Silly

You Are a Peacemaker Soul
You strive to please others and compromise anyway you can.War or conflict bothers you, and you would do anything to keep the peace. You are a good mediator and a true negotiator.Sometimes you do too much, trying so hard to make people happy.
While you keep the peace, you tend to be secretly judgmental. You lose respect for people who don't like to both give and take.On the flip side, you've got a graet sense of humor and wit. You're always dimplomatic and able to give good advice.
Souls you are most compatible with: Warrior Soul, Hunter Soul and Visionary Soul

Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me

I have been trying for a while now to post a message about the recent Keith Urban concert I went to in Adelaide, but frankly it was so damn exceptional that I am lost for words when people ask me how it was. I tend to get all flustered and repeat "Oh my God, it was..oh my god" over and over. How do you describe the concert experience of a lifetime?

Our seats were nothing short of frigging awesome! 6 rows back and just two chairs away from the huge catwalk that Keith walked up and down several times. By the middle of the show I was as close as you could get to him without being on stage.

Here's the pics...and they still don't do the gig justice!

And while this last picture isn't great in a photographic sense it shows how amazingly close I actually was to him. In fact when he walked down the catwalk slapping people's hands he missed my hand by a mere ONE cm!!

The Dragons Made Me Do It

Well it's been an eventful day today..with one tw-incident after another from first thing this morning right up until bedtime. Here's a run down....

(NOTE: This post contains graphic photos that may offend or upset some readers.)

Victim: Bilby
Suspects: Small caucasian female, pale complexion, blue eyes, blonde hair.
Possible accomplice: Small caucasian male, pale complexion, blue eyes, blonde hair
Crime Scene: The nursery wardrobe
Witness: Abbey who claims she smelled chocolate on the breath of main suspect upon her return to the house yesterday afternoon.
Evidence Collected : Foil wrapping from near Bilby's body, assorted chocolate crumbs from shelves and floor of wardrobe and headless body of bilby still intact.

Investigation continuing…..

Not content with the "bilby"incident from the morning I wandered down to the kitchen after lunch to find Scar with a mouth completely stuffed full of Scotch Finger biscuit. She obviously knew she shouldn't have it so proceeded to push it out of her mouth as fast as possible with her tongue while Joe shouted that she'd gotten the biscuit out of the bin. Eeeeew! I'd put the biscuit in the bin when I was tidying up the living area which they completely demolished while I was hanging out the washing earlier. They took all the 5 toy tubs from the book shelves and emptied them out so they could play with the tubs empty Scarlett actually had the cheek to insist that she had been given the biscuit by...wait for it...the Pocket Dragons!?!?!?
(For those not in the know..Pocket Dragons are little ornaments that I collected while in the UK)

We just had what will hopefully be the last twincident for the day when G walked into their room to get the kids PJ's on, he found on the floor in their room a box with one gold and sapphire earring in it and the other nowhere to be seen I almost died on the spot as G bought them for me for Xmas! A quick scout around and we found the other and thankfully they are not damaged but again I don't know who to blame. Neither of them will confess, they just blame each other, Scar elaborated all about how Joe did it (ie what he climbed on to reach it etc) ..but she's a bit of deceptive little monkey and is probably telling us what she did to get it.

They both also threw big tantrums today, Scarlett on the way home from school this morning and Joe on the way home from school this afternoon.

Can we just skip today and hope tomorrow is better?

Had A Smashing Time Tonight

Literally! Tonight we went out to Zapata's for dinner as Amanda and her daughter Piper were in town and so we just *had* to catch up. Both the food and company was fantastic, and we had a lovely time. I think poor Piper was a bit bored but certainly got everyone's attention when she knocked a glass off the table. She was such a sweetie though and had us laughing quite a bit.
On the way out of the restaurant she let me carry her and we walked down the street looking at all the weird and wonderful things in the windows of the shops as we went along. It was lovely having a little cuddle with her and having her talk so much with me. When we dropped them off at their hotel she gave me some hugs and blew kisses..such a sweet little girl.
It's getting late now so I will blog some more tomorrow as I have been so behind with posting here ..sorry!

Come What May

Yes welcome to May, it's bucketing down with rain and has been on and off all day. It actually almost feels like winter, it's dark, wet and windy and I love it!

So much has been happening over the past couple of weeks that I haven't had a chance, nor the energy to update here.

It's been school holidays so Abs has been home for 3 weeks as they broke up on the Thursday before Good Friday. We didn't get up to very much other than the bowling I mentioned in the last post but it was a nice break from doing the school run each day.

We are finally getting to the end of the renovations we have been doing. Our study has now become a 4th bedroom as of yesterday and is now being referred to as "Joe's Room" we still have to put the cornice on one wall and have the walls flushed which is all happening Saturday, then we get to choose paint colours, curtains and wall paper borders. Joe is being very insistent on having green walls but I just don't feel right about it. I don't think in 2-3 years he is still going to want green and I would rather use a colour that will last quite a while.

Our attic conversion also was finished yesterday but there are a few issues with it now that we need to sort out so not going to say much about that at this point until we have spoken to the company again.

Last week I managed to do this layout with some gorgeous freebies I have downloaded recently

Well that's about all from me, best go see what the kids are up to since the screaming has all just stopped.
